WHO WE ARE
west elm was born in Brooklyn, New York in 2002. A branch of Williams–Sonoma, Inc., we’re focused on the intersection of modern design, affordability and community. Everything we sell—from sofas and tables to bedding and vases—is made with one goal in mind: to help our customers express their personal style at home and in the world.
We care about impact too. By designing over 90% of our products in–house, our design team has steadily increased our selection of organic, handcrafted, sustainably sourced and Fair Trade Certified™ products. We work with Filipino artisans to provide vocational training for the craftspeople who make our vases, baskets and capiz pieces. And our Manila store offers free in-home and in-store design services, from space planning to styling.
There’s a story behind everything we sell—one that starts in Brooklyn and lives on with you.
WELCOME TO WEST ELM. WE LOVE THE WAY YOU LIVE.
WHERE WE’RE LOCATED
Community matters. We’re invested in the areas we serve and committed to making a difference, both locally and globally. This means everything from empowering store managers to tailor their own inventory to improving the lives of the handcrafted artisans we work with.
You’ll find west elm stores in 85+ US cities and internationally in Canada, the Philippines, Mexico, South Korea, Australia, the UK and the Middle East.
At west elm, we’re committed to using design to drive meaningful change. The work that we do and the products that we craft allow you, our customers, to create a POSITIVE IMPACT on our global community circle by making YOUR VALUES come alive through the choices you make.
We call this “RESPONSIBLE RETAIL” and have committed to ambitious goals in four key areas—HANDCRAFTED, FAIR TRADE CERTIFIED™, ORGANIC and SUSTAINABLY SOURCED. We’ll continue to keep you informed about how our ideas and your choices help to create positive change.
